The City of Fruita has made the difficult decision to cancel the July 3 fireworks show due to current drought conditions and increased fire danger in the area.

While the fireworks show is a long-standing community tradition, the safety of residents, visitors, emergency responders, and surrounding natural areas remains the City’s top priority. With dry conditions continuing across the region, canceling the fireworks show is a proactive step to reduce fire risk.

Even though the fireworks show will not take place this year, the community is still invited to celebrate with the City of Fruita on Thursday, July 2, during a special evening of music, activities, and a drone show at Civic Center Park.

The celebration will begin with the Thursday Night Concert featuring Hazel Miller and the Collective at 7:30 p.m. Following the concert, the City will host a drone show. Civic Center Park will be the best viewing location for the drone show, and community members are encouraged to come early, enjoy the concert, and take part in the evening’s festivities.

The event will also include free swag, t-shirt screen printing, ice cream, and more as Fruita celebrates America’s 250th anniversary.

The City of Fruita would like to thank the community for understanding and for doing their part to help prevent wildfires during this dry season.

A few years ago, sellers could say "no" to just about everything a buyer asked for.

No repairs.
No concessions.
No negotiation.

Today? The market looks a little different.

Zillow says 67% of sellers pay some or all of their buyer's closing costs.

That doesn't mean every seller should do it. But it does mean the most successful sellers today understand something important:

The market has shifted. And that's means negotiation is back on the table.

Sometimes helping with closing costs makes sense. Sometimes another concession is the better move. But it’s normal for today’s market to require some give and take.

This sweet family was making a move from Minnesota to Grand Junction and searching for what they hoped would be their forever home. The challenge? They couldn't be here in person. βœˆοΈπŸ“¦

Every showing was through FaceTime. Every decision was based on videos, conversations, and trust. πŸ“±πŸ 

I'm not going to lie, writing offers on homes that clients haven't seen in person always makes me a little nervous. I take that responsibility seriously. My job isn't to sell a house. My job is to help people make the right decision, even if that means pointing out things they may not want to hear.

We wrote offers on four different homes. We lost the first three. 😬

At the time, it was frustrating. But looking back, I truly believe it happened for a reason. πŸ™

The home they ended up buying was the right one. 🏑✨

And despite one major obstacle in our relationship... they were Minnesota Wild fans. πŸ˜†πŸ’ As a loyal Avalanche fan, I wasn't sure we could overcome our differences. πŸ˜‚πŸ₯…

Thankfully, we agreed on the important things: finding the right home, not just any home. 🀝❀️
