My name is Derrick Snider, I am a Colorado native and specifically a native of the Western Slope. As a local Realtor, I plan to build relationships with my clients, serve
my community and help this valley continue to prosper and grow through my commitment to helping others connect to their own vision of HOME. I was born at Valley View hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado on November 14, 1970. My parents are Mary Ann and Don Snider. My family has deep roots to this area and has for many generations. I have a stepmother Jymme Snider, who lives with my Dad in Wyoming. I am a proud father of my son Dylan and two grandchildren - Alayah and Carter, all of whom reside in Grand Junction, Colorado. My mom and I moved to Grand Junction when I was 4 years old. I grew up in the Grand Valley graduating from Central High School in 1989. My mom is an amazing woman and has been my rock during my entire life. I attended Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) for a time, but left to pursue a music career. I moved to Seattle and eventually ended up in Tempe, AZ. Followed by a move to Albuquerque NM. My travels came full circle back to Grand Junction in 1998 and have called this valley home ever since. In recent years I have become a huge outdoor enthusiast, with activities such as photography, hiking, canyoneering, mountain biking and snowboarding. I am the Vice-President of Thunder Mountain Camera Club and have had my photography published internationally in Digital Camera Magazine. I have also had my work displayed in Denver and locally at The Avalon Theater, City Hall, and currently in Uncanny Valley Art Gallery. Since moving to Grand Junction the high points of my life have been having a son and grandchildren. In 2018, I married my best friend and companion Leana Leach, a native of Santa Monica, California and made her a Snider :)
This subsequently added two stepsons - Tyler and Christopher plus a daughter-in-law Atlanta and three more grandkids Addison, Xayli and Josephina to my family. Leana and I were married at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade, Colorado on October 20th, 2018. We had a beautiful wedding and hired local favorites Jack & Jill to provide the music! I worked in the oilfield in Western Colorado for Halliburton for a time doing Coil Tubing. When the oil and gas industry tanked locally, I started working out of state in TX, UT, WY, and ND in frac for several years. TIME FOR A CHANGE:
I have now embarked on a new career in real estate and I am excited to hang my hat with another Grand Valley local - Bray Real Estate!
