Alright.

I'm going to tell you something that most business owners would never admit publicly.

We once took a job…

Drove an hour and a half one way…

Needed two trucks instead of one…

Made multiple trips…

And walked away having lost money.

Not broke even. Lost.

Here's what happened.

I sent a crew out — one experienced guy and a couple of newer guys still learning the ropes. I knew in my gut that truck should be loaded in one shot. One truck. Done.

They didn't load it right.

I don't mean they scratched something. I mean the whole load was just… wrong. Disorganized. Inefficient. The kind of loading that makes a veteran mover wince.

So we had to get a second truck.

And then we had to make multiple trips.

And this was an hour and a half drive. One way.

You do that math.

But here's the thing.

The customer?

He had no idea any of this happened.

He didn't know about the second truck. Didn't know about the extra trips. Didn't know the hill on the other end was brutal, or that it turned into a twelve-hour day.

All he knew was: we said we'd move him. And we moved him.
Everything arrived. Nothing broke. We did what we said.

So that's what we did.

We ate the cost.

At first, this looked impossible.

The customer needed their hot tub relocated to the backyard after a long-distance move.

Sounds simple enough…

Until we pulled up and saw the driveway.

Long. Steep. Narrow.

And at the top of it sat a very heavy hot tub that somehow had to make it safely around the back of the house.

This is the kind of thing most people never think about when planning a move.

Heavy item moving is not just about strength.

It takes teamwork, experience, communication, patience, and problem solving under pressure.
