Be Encouraged…
Jesus didn’t need to convince His disciples that trials were coming—they had already walked through them. They knew rejection. They had felt opposition. They had endured persecution, insults, and being driven out simply for following Him.
Still, on the night before His crucifixion, Jesus spoke plainly: trouble is ahead. Not only in the coming hours, but in the days that would follow.
He was preparing their hearts—just as He prepares ours.
But He didn’t leave them with a warning alone. He gave them a promise: “Take heart.”
Why? Because peace is not out of reach.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus shares some of His most tender and hope-filled words—speaking of the Spirit who would come, the love He has for us, and the prayers He lifts on our behalf. His words are full of peace.
Yet the greater peace is found beyond His words—it’s found in His presence.
Jesus spoke with unwavering assurance. He knew what Friday would hold—the suffering, the cross, the burden. But He also knew what was coming. Sunday was certain. Death would not have the final say. Victory was already secured.
He has overcome. He continues to overcome. He always will overcome.
Your struggles are real—but they are not in control. Jesus is. And He has already overcome the world.
