FINALLY!

That’s what I title this. Finally.

Let’s start by giving congratulations to my seller Joe and his sister Sharon!! After 4 months of being on the market, we got to the closing table today. Joe was selling his childhood home. His parents bought this house in 1957 when it was built. He grew up in this home from the age of 2.

His father died and his mother lived for several more years and kept up the home in amazing condition. After she passed, Sharon reached out to me about selling it. She and Joe had spent months cleaning out the house, getting it ready to sell. When it was finally ready, they called me.

Almost immediately, we got an offer. That buyer got cold feet. So back in the market it went! In this slow market, it took a bit before we got another buyer interested and not only did that buyer love the home, but we got to the closing table 2 weeks early!!

It was a pleasure working with both Joe and Sharon. They were kind, kept in great communication and so efficient! Congratulations to the both of them, today was a great day!

You should’ve seen me when I got the clear to close! I was so happy, I threw my arms up and yelled out “YES!!!”

This one took a bit, but I’m so excited for my seller to finally close this chapter. More to come!

Let me spit some truth at ya!

Today I was lucky enough to hear Dr. Alan Beaulieu at the GRAR Annual Meeting. He’s an economist that gave us all a lot of helpful data about not only the market but about the economy as a whole!

Here’s what we learned:

🔥Mortgage rates are going to continue to rise. They may go down a little, but overall, expect a rise. And it’s going to be this way for years.

🔥 The housing market is NOT GOING TO CRASH anytime soon.

🔥Home prices will continue to rise, inflation will still be a thing for a long while, and wages will need to rise as well

🔥 Houses hold their value even during recessions, but if your buying right now, buy the house that will fit your needs for the next 10-15 years

Finally, because of all that the Grand Rapids area offers, you can expect that if we have a depression, that we won’t be as affected as places like NY or CA may be - so why not choose West Michigan as your home? 😁

Not trying to scare you here, the data is there. One key takeaway from Dr. Beaulieu that I’ll leave you with: Be ready for the changing economy. Don’t act like it’s doomsday news and don’t let the media scare you. It’s all going to be fine. Enjoy life. Be smart with your money. And if you want a smart investment: buy a house! As long as your plan isn’t to offload it quickly, you will find a return on the investment. Even through a depression and recession.
