I tested the SHARE3DCAM S20 on a real site to see how practical a handheld scanner actually is for surveying work.

We mapped an entire town center in roughly 20 minutes, processed the point cloud, and reviewed the results to see where this kind of workflow makes sense and where it still needs caution.

There’s a lot of hype around hand held scanners right now. I’m more interested in one thing: does it produce usable information for surveyors?

I put the iPhone 17 Pro’s LiDAR to the ultimate test against a Surveying Total Station to see how it holds up for professional accuracy. 📱🛰️

Using the iPhone 14 Pro with the is a great way to collect data using Photogrammetry and LiDAR. This was a practical example of a topographic survey and I compared the accuracy to my Total Station. The results were incredible.
