Books, Books, Books! 📚 This year I have a goal to read 52 books, one book a week. This is my current read, but will also be used extensively during my quiet time in the word.

I personally prefer to read a physical paperback/hard cover as opposed an e-book or listening to an audio book. Although, one of my recents was a free audio book, Atomic Habits by James Clear.

We all know that screen time is detrimental to our physical and emotional health, and I want to limit it as much as I can. One way I can limit that time is by removing it completely or almost completely from this area of my life.

Anyone else have any reading goals this year or any good book recommendations? 📕📗📘📙

The other day we decided to count the loose change in one of our vehicles and there was $78. The kids wanted to count more money, so we took out a small bucket that we put loose change into, and that’s what is pictured.
Can you guess how much money is on the table?

Saving your loose change is a great way to teach your children about money.

Shortly after my wife and I got married, we gave the area of finances over to the Lord and committed to living debt-free. What are you pursuing?

Comfort, money, entertainment, freedom, possessions, ___[fill in the blank]___

In the past I have pursued all of these things and more. While these are not all bad things, my heart was not focused on eternity and giving God His rightful glory.

You can use all these things to bring honor and glory to the Lord, but it’s also very easy to make these things an idol in our lives.

What does God’s word say we should pursue?

“…For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men…” Colossians 3:23-24

“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22

“He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish…” Proverbs 11:28

“Only one life ‘twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” C.T. Studd

What are you pursuing? Is it things above, things that are eternal? When we seek first His kingdom, we will have all we need - but not necessarily all we want. You may regret some choices you’ve made in your life, but you will never regret pursuing the Lord by knowing His word and reaching the souls of men.
