Perfect girls weekend at the lakeshore with some of my favorites :)
A generally rainy weekend meant we decided to explore the Sawyer area- and many places I’ve only followed so far on insta. What a treat. We visited Sojourn (beautiful selection of handmade ceramics); Scandinavian Lifestyle. which had a great edit of chic clothing; Alchemy Art + Antiques (great selection of fairly priced vintage and lots of original art); had the most perfect lunch at Out There - and finished it all off with such a beautiful selection of gorgeous goods at AP Shop & AP S/S - where the shop owner was not only so cute and with the best outfit, she was also kind and welcoming. They had a cute shop next door, too. It was an inspiring and restful treat of a weekend with girlfriends and I think I needed the reset! I am looking into the coming week feeling inspired. If you are looking for a new place, I’d really recommend checking out this area of Michigan!
Thoughts on Retail: in many places it’s gotten to be much of the same, imo. Many shop owners are all going to the same shows to buy and carry the same product that can also be purchased online. It felt special to find things in this SW Michigan Travel, Curated area that felt special, selected, and like you couldn’t find them elsewhere.
