Here in West MI, the form used by the Greater Regional Alliance of Realtors (GRAR) to negotiate the sale of a home on our Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has six pages, 38 paragraphs and 5,201 words in in. A lot of thought soup there.

April 2024 Newsletter: Special Edition 🌻☀️ -

The changes are a direct result of the mid-March $418 million settlement by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) after a series of class-action lawsuits on sharing commissions in listing agreements. The settlement is expected to be approved in court in mid-July and will take full effect then.

Not a spectacular number compared to value gains in 2020 (9.9%), 2021 (14.5%) or 2022 (12.1%), but a very solid performance in a year filled with costly mortgage rates and a somewhat shaky economy. Sellers should be tickled with the gain.
