Saw this graphic yesterday about homebuyer trends and it’s mind boggling how big the gap is.

Gen Z is only taking up 4% of the market right now, while Baby Boomers make up 42%. There’s so many factors behind why the gap is this big, and I know for a lot of people it can make homeownership feel almost impossible.
But at the same time, there are still programs and grants out there that can help make it more achievable.

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a government-backed agency that helps make homeownership more accessible for buyers who may not have perfect credit or a large down payment saved.

You may be able to qualify with:

* Lower credit scores
* As little as 3.5% down
* More flexible lending guidelines

What most people don’t know is FHA loans come with mortgage insurance (MIP), an upfront fee plus a monthly payment. In most cases, that monthly cost stays for the life of the loan unless you refinance.

FHA can be a great way to get into a home sooner but it’s important to understand the full picture before choosing your path.
