Meet Paul Marantette! 👋

Originally from the Detroit area, Paul spent more than a decade in Chicago before making his way back to Michigan and settling in Grand Rapids in 2015. The move brought him closer to his twin brother and family, and, as luck would have it, a few months later he met his now-wife, Christina. ❤️

After years in the restaurant industry, Paul found his way into real estate in 2017 and today serves as an Associate Broker with GreenSquare. His background in hospitality, management, and training turned out to be pretty great preparation for a career built around helping people.

When he's not working, you'll likely find Paul and Christina enjoying everything Michigan has to offer: camping in the UP, golfing, heading north for a ski weekend, or taking their dog, Penny, out for an adventure.

From Chicago restaurants to West Michigan real estate, Paul's path here hasn't exactly been a straight line, but we're pretty glad it led him our way. 💚

Most Realtors love closing day.

Amy Marlow does, too... but there's one part she's never been very good at.

Saying goodbye. 💚

When Amy was a teacher, she always hated the last day of school. After spending the better part of a year getting to know her students, suddenly they weren't part of her everyday life anymore.

Real estate, she's discovered, isn't all that different.

For weeks or months, Amy might talk to a client almost every day. They're touring houses, navigating decisions, solving problems, celebrating good news, and getting to know each other along the way.

Then they close.

The goal they've been working toward finally happens, which is absolutely worth celebrating... but suddenly those almost-daily conversations become check-ins every few months.

And Amy misses them.

Fortunately, many of those relationships don't actually end at the closing table.

Amy still meets former clients for coffee and brunch. She gets invited to family events and catches up with people around town. Recently, she even helped the parents of her very first client purchase their first home in the United States. Next up? She's looking forward to their family picnic once the new kitchen is finished.

For Amy, those relationships are a reminder that the connection built during a real estate transaction was never just about business.

She genuinely gets to know the people she works with. She roots for them. She gets excited about what comes next.

And apparently, every once in a while, she has to help their parents buy a house, too. 😉

If there's one thing we hope you've gotten to know about Amy, it's this: she doesn't measure a successful transaction by what happens at the closing table alone.

It's the people she gets to know along the way, and the relationships she's lucky enough to keep long after the keys are handed over. 💚

🌿 A little bit Secret Garden, a whole lot of space to call your own.

Tucked beneath mature trees on 1.12 acres, Scott's latest listing feels private and shaded outside while staying surprisingly bright and open inside.

With 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, generous living spaces on both levels, a finished basement with bar area and fireplace, and an oversized 2.5-stall garage, there’s plenty of room to spread out.

And with Thornapple River public access nearby, getting outside is easy, too.

Finding the right fit matters. Not just when you're looking for a home, but when you're choosing where to build your career, too. 💚

When Amy Marlow began thinking about her future in real estate, a trusted agent connected her with GreenSquare broker Scott Allan West. After meeting with them, Amy saw a brokerage that valued many of the same things she did: professionalism, education, collaboration, and doing the job well.

For a former teacher, the emphasis on education felt especially familiar.

“I have been more supported, celebrated, and challenged to continue growing than at any other point in my professional life. I truly feel like I can soar!”

That support doesn't just benefit Amy.

Real estate is constantly changing, and Amy believes that when agents stay educated, connected to their local market, and engaged in their profession, their clients benefit from everything they learn along the way.

And while GreenSquare may be a boutique brokerage, Amy says that's part of what she loves about it. There's a genuine sense of teamwork here. Our agents share knowledge, ask questions, learn from one another, and have people to turn to when a transaction presents a new challenge.

For Amy, finding the right brokerage meant finding a place that would support who she already was while continuing to challenge her to become an even better agent.

And that's exactly the kind of growth she can bring back to every client she serves. 💚

For Amy Marlow, being a REALTOR® means being part of something bigger than the transactions on her calendar. 💚

“Real estate is really about community. The more people care about where they live, the better that place becomes.”

That's why you'll find Amy volunteering wherever she can, whether that means serving in a leadership role or simply getting her hands dirty.

She's currently involved with the Women's Council of REALTORS®, GRAR's Education & Professionalism Committee and Leadership Academy, and Academic Boosters within her kids' school district. But for Amy, involvement isn't about collecting titles. It's about learning, building relationships, and giving back.

And ultimately, all three make her a better agent.

Serving within the real estate community keeps Amy informed about what's happening in the industry. It has also helped her build relationships with agents throughout West Michigan. When she finds herself across the table from an agent she already knows and trusts, communication can be easier, problems can be solved more collaboratively, and Amy can use those relationships to better advocate for her clients.

Her involvement with the Women's Council of REALTORS® has reinforced something else she believes strongly: other agents don't have to be viewed simply as competition. There's plenty of room to support one another, learn from one another, and build a stronger profession together.

As Amy puts it: “Knowledge is power for my clients.”

The more she learns, the more connected she becomes, and the more she invests in the community she serves, the more she can bring back to the people who trust her with their next move. 💚

There was a U-Haul in the driveway. The entire house was packed inside.

And closing was the next day.

What could possibly go wrong? 😅

Well... the buyers walked away.

Long before Amy Marlow became a REALTOR®, she tried selling one of her own homes For Sale By Owner. And honestly? It had gone pretty smoothly.

Right up until it didn't.

Amy had already spent years paying attention to real estate. She'd bought homes, fixed them up, sold them a few years later, and used the proceeds to move on to the next one. Her family had always been pretty comfortable with the idea that they could handle a real estate transaction themselves.

Then came the U-Haul incident.

Looking back, Amy says the advice she'd give her younger self is pretty simple: the legal protection and professional guidance that come with having a good REALTOR® in your corner are worth their weight in gold.

And that experience still shapes the way she works with clients today.

Amy understands that hiring a REALTOR® isn't just about finding a house online or putting a sign in the yard. It's having someone there to anticipate problems, explain your options, protect your interests, and help you figure out what comes next when a transaction suddenly doesn't go according to plan.

Because sometimes everything goes smoothly.

And sometimes your entire house is sitting in a U-Haul in the driveway. 😉

🍎 It's officially back-to-school season, and while Amy Marlow won't be heading back to the classroom this fall, the teacher in her never really went anywhere.

Before becoming a Realtor, Amy spent years in the classroom. And these days, that teacher's heart shows up especially when she's working with first-time homebuyers.

Amy knows buying your first home can come with a LOT of questions. Can I actually afford this? What will I need for a down payment? Is that inspection issue a normal homeowner expense... or is this house about to become a money pit?

Her job isn't just to help clients get to the closing table. It's to make sure they understand how they're getting there.

That means connecting buyers with trusted lenders early in the process and helping them explore programs they may not even know are available. It means attending inspections, asking questions alongside her clients, and helping them understand the difference between routine home maintenance and something that may need immediate attention.

And when things get complicated? Amy remembers one of the most important lessons from her teaching days: everyone learns differently.

So a complicated conversation might happen face-to-face or over the phone, followed by a detailed email they can revisit later. Because when you're making a big decision AND emotions are running high, sometimes you need to hear something more than once. And that's okay.

One client summed it up pretty perfectly:

“You explain things so well! You made a scary process become easy and fun!”

These days, Amy's lessons might look a little different. There are fewer textbooks and a lot more inspection reports. 😉 But she still gets to do what she loves: teach, problem-solve, answer questions, and help people feel confident taking their next big step. 💚

"You’re just part of the family now, whether you like it or not!” 💚

That’s what one of Amy’s clients recently told her… and honestly, it might be the perfect description of how Amy does real estate.

It started when Amy helped a client relocating from Arizona. Since they couldn’t be at every showing, Amy spent a lot of time touring homes with the client’s dad. She wasn’t just looking at whether a house checked the right boxes. She was paying attention to how it functioned, its condition, future repairs and remodeling needs, and whether it was truly the right fit. And when it wasn’t? She said so.

By move-in day, Amy was right there with the family, tackling an issue with belongings the seller had left behind and even rolling up her sleeves to help clean bathrooms.

Somewhere along the way, a real estate transaction became a relationship.

Since then, Amy has helped three members of the same family. She’s been invited to birthday parties, backyard BBQs, sporting events, and more. The dad she spent all those days touring homes with? They still text occasionally just to check in.

For Amy, getting to know her clients isn’t something extra. It’s part of doing the job well. Because the better she understands the people she’s helping, the better she can advocate for what they actually need.

And every once in a while, she gets adopted into the family in the process. Whether she likes it or not. 😉
