The FHN Academic Boosters Club is looking for volunteers to help us grow partnerships that directly support FHN students and staff.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who:

✅ Has a flexible schedule

The FHN Academic Booster Club is excited to host one of our favorite traditions, the **Annual End of Year Staff Luncheon** on **Tuesday, June 2**!

Our teachers and staff have spent the year supporting, encouraging, and investing in our students. As the school year comes to a close, we want to send them into summer feeling appreciated and celebrated.

You do not need fundraising experience. We are simply looking for people who:
✔ Enjoy connecting with others
✔ Want to support students
✔ Can help with outreach, emails, or sponsorship coordination
✔ Want a flexible, low-barrier volunteer opportunity

Most of the work can be done from home on your own schedule, and the PTO Board will actively support the effort.

Freshmen Foundations: Skills for Study, Time, and High School Success

Overview:
This two-session workshop equips high school freshmen with essential skills for success, including time management, effective reading and listening, note taking, study strategies, and communication with teachers. Each student will receive individualized support to develop strategies tailored to their needs.

In the second session, learners will reflect on their progress, explore additional strategies, and gain practical tools to manage their time and studies with confidence.

📍 Where: Forest Hills Northern High School
💲 Cost: $25.00*
🎓 Who Can Participate: Freshmen Students — Class of 2030

Registration Deadline: August 21

Pre-Session: August 28 — Last day to complete the Study Skills Survey (link provided in confirmation email.)

Session 1: September 1, 6:00–7:15 PM
Student Brings: Lined notebook, writing utensil(s)
Focus Areas:

Time management and handling phone distractions

Reading and listening skills

Note-taking strategies

First study techniques and personalized advice

Session 2: September 15, 6:00–7:15 PM
