I don’t meal prep in bulk… but I meal plan every morning and it’s the single biggest tip I can give someone in a calorie deficit.

If you’re trying to lose weight in a calorie deficit in a healthy and sustainable way… you NEED 140g of protein and 25g of fiber. And you won’t get it while remaining in a deficit if you don’t plan.

I love being creative with food and flavors in a way that actually fuels my body and helps me hit my goals.

I’ve lost 25 lbs in the last 90 days eating like this- when combined with supplements and exercise.

All naturally, no glp-1.

The only reason I was able to do this, is because I was fueling my body in the deficit by hitting my protein and fiber goals. That is the secret to making it sustainable.

Kids… they’re either your excuse or your reason. 💣

So much of me wants to make them my excuse to stay in my comfort zone but deep down I always knew that the momentary comfort of choosing to be with your kids instead of taking care of your health wasn’t going to build the mom they NEED or the mom they will need.

The KEY is to keep low sugar sauces ready to go for leftover night!! Remix what you have to make a fresh new meal.

Things I used in the video for 1 serving:
140g chopped grilled chicken tenderloin
100g steamed broccoli
1tsp toasted sesame oil
1tbsp bww Asian zing
1tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 packet of chopped almonds from Chick-fil-A 🫣😆

Heat the oil in a CastIron skillet and let chopped broccoli get crispy (5 min)
Add chicken & teriyaki sauce- let crispen (3 min)
Spoon into bowl and drizzle with Asian zing sauce and sprinkle chopped almonds

MACROS:
310 calories
31 protein
28 carbs
11 fat
5 fiber

What habits are you passing down? 😬🫣

Theres no such thing as a perfect person or parent.
And being imperfect is such an important part of parenting… dare I saw however? lol

We can probably all compose a list of positive and negative habits that we learned from our parents, even if we didn’t want to. Even if we knew as kids they were negative habits. The survival instinct to mimic how parents act in relationships, how they handle stress, and how their lives reflect their values is automatic.

Because it’s an act of self preservation and ingrained in our DNA, breaking these habits and rewriting over them with habits that actually serve us is REALLY STINKING HARD.

And number 1 on my list is my relationship with food. Reinventing food to be fuel first and enjoyment second. Not a bandaid for stress or sadness but leaving some room for joy as well.

80 days and 25 lbs later my whole life is lighter- I have more energy, less fatigue, stronger muscles, less visceral fat, no more headaches, and finally have REGULAR DIGESTION 😂 💩

Recipe 👇🏻

Combine the following ingredients:
2 scoops plant based vanilla protein powder
3 tbsp flour
1 tbsp natural runny peanut butter
2-3 tbsp water
(Toppings: dark chocolate chips, crumbled Oreo or other)

Form into a big cookie on parchment paper and bake at 350 for 7 min. The bottom will be crisp but the inside gooey 🍪

MACROS:
375 cal 26g protein 8g fiber

I’m Emily- west Michigan realtor/ mom for 4/ wife for a decade/ and CURRENTLY chasing a life I’ve dreamed about for years!

Phase one is figuring out what I like as a 32 year old mom who’s day mostly consists of what everyone else wants/likes. #1 on that list so far has been MORE ENERGY & a stronger and leaner body.

SO- I’ve been in a calorie deficit since January and already down 20 pounds 🎉 come along with me in this weight loss and self discovery journey as we FINALLY realize our full potential.

When parenthood calls, we answer lol even if our vlog doesn’t get the Chick-fil-A meal filming we wanted for this reel 🤷‍♀️ 😂

At this point in my life I knew I needed REAL health change. The kind that’s slow and sustainable and actually life changing. No more gimmicks or cleanses or restrictive diets or fads or even meds.

Something that can easily morf with me through different seasons of life and fun days with my family. I’m forever DONE with sitting on the sidelines because of my health, weight, or restrictive diet. DONE.

So I count macros.

140g protein & 25g fiber. Under 1600 calories.
EVERY DAY during this deficit.

Not everyone will like that but being disciplined in how much I consume has given me so much more freedom for things I actually care about and allows me to live more in alignment with my values.
