Today on - Tax Tips for Homeowners!

1. Property Taxes are Deductible
On your federal tax return, you can claim any state and local property taxes you pay. On your yearly summary, you can look up the cost of property taxes for your listing. If you just bought your house, be sure that you deduct only the amount you paid for the previous year. This tip only applies to people who itemize their deductions!

2. Selling Has Advantages, Too
If you sold your house you'll be able to write off any title insurance you purchased, advertisements you took out in order to help you sell, and even some repairs if they were performed during a specific time period around your home sale.

3. RV & Boat Loans Count as Mortgages
If you've gotten a loan for a recreation vehicle or boat that has sanitation, cooking, and sleeping facilities, you can count it as a second home and write off the mortgage interest.
