Placer County’s Building Services Division is reminding residents, contractors and developers that the 2025 California Building Standards Code will go into effect Jan. 1 as required by the California Building Standards Commission.
This update includes changes to building, residential, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, energy and green building standards — plus a new Wildland-Urban Interface Code to improve wildfire safety.
All permit applications submitted on or after Jan. 1 must follow the updated code.
