"I don't have one"

to report soliciting without a permit.*

That's right. To solicit door to door in the city limits, City ordinance states that every company or solicitor must obtain the proper license, permit and credentials from the City Clerk’s Office. The ordinance further states that those credentials must be displayed and easily visible on a lanyard.

Your safety is our priority. If something seems suspicious or a solicitor is not following the rules or refuses to leave, trust your instincts and contact us.

We inform solicitors of the rules and to avoid houses with visible No Soliciting signs. They have the right to work in the City, but they have to follow the Ordinance and respect our citizens.

In order to enhance the safety of our community, we have revised the design of our licensed Solicitor ID cards. The new cards will feature a photo and will prominently display both the start date and expiration date.
Individuals who have completed a local background check and paid the necessary fees are issued these permits. They are not affiliated with the City, and the City does not endorse the products being promoted. These identification cards are strictly for the use of the individuals to whom they are issued.
If a solicitor approaches your home, feel free to request their City-issued ID permit and contact the Police Department if you have any concerns regarding their purpose.
