We moved here in search of a calmer, quieter community to raise our son and daughter. Sweet Home Oregon is a very quaint and rural logging town that we settled in for about 6 years. In July 2012, we relocated to Southern Oregon, and we have loved this grand community of Grants Pass and all that it has to offer. We were very involved with the Grants Pass High School’s Marching Band and Guard. Our c
hildren spent the majority of their high school careers engaged in this amazing, challenging and very rewarding program. It is here that I saw what a great community Grants Pass really is. To see the support from the community members and businesses that would rally around these kids and this program was inspiring. I have never experienced such a consistently giving community. In addition, there is always something to see or do here in this wonderful town, from First Fridays downtown, to Boatnik, to Back to the 50’s, to Art Along the Rogue; as well as numerous rivers, parks, churches, and a welcoming downtown with live music, museums and a variety of restaurants. In my free time, family is a huge part of my life. Spending our time hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, beachcombing, or walking our dogs are a few things we enjoy. Family fun days are spent sharing a home cooked meal, playing cards, corn hole or just hanging out. The simple pleasures are what we enjoy most.
