Psalm 25

This is a song that David wrote.

1 Lord, I offer myself to you.
2 I trust in you, my God.
Please do not let me be ashamed.
Do not let my enemies laugh at me,
because they are stronger than me.
3 Surely nobody who trusts in you
will become ashamed.
But those who like to deceive others
will become ashamed.
4 Lord, help me to understand your ways.
Teach me your good paths.
5 Please be my guide and teach me your truth.
I trust you every day,
because you are the God who keeps me safe.
6 Lord, please be kind to me
and show me your faithful love.
From long ago you have always been like that.
7 Do not punish me for the sins that I did long ago.

The land will belong to their descendants.
14 The Lord is a guide for those who serve him.
He teaches them to obey his covenant.
15 I always look to the Lord for help.
He will keep me safe from my enemies,
so that their traps do not catch me.
16 Please turn towards me, Lord,
and be kind to me.
I feel very weak and lonely.
17 I worry a lot about my troubles.
Please rescue me from them!
18 Look at all my pain!
See how I am suffering!
Forgive me for all my sins.
19 Look at all my enemies!
There are very many of them!
They hate me so much
that they want to hurt me.
20 Keep my life safe and take care of me.
I have come to you to keep me safe,

What are some evidences of God
Or some evidences against God

This was my reply

One of these days
I'm going to get this argument dialed in

well.., perhaps not ,

I'm pretty old now

maybe I won't

but anyway, I'm going to try one more time

If any non-believer in God came upon a snowman

Rocks for eyes
Sticks for arms
Etc etc

I do not believe there is a single one of them

Who would believe that it evolved

And the snowman that I described

Is one of the most basic things....

No blood
No circulatory system
No eyeballs
No heart

Etc etc etc etc etc

From a basic Daisy flower

To a human being

All those things totally evolved

They totally buy into that

But a snow man....

That is a bridge too far 🤷🤷🤷

Not only are humans incredible masterpieces

But there is not anything on the planet that is not a masterpiece

A thousand times more intricate and awesome than a snowman...

They have been duped by the greatest deceiver

It's absolutely baffling...

Here is my Testimony of How I came to know the Lord Jesus !

I was saved over 44 years ago on a bunk in the San Diego County Jail in May 1980
I had read every book in their paltry library and I had continued to push the Bible out of my way. I know people said it was the Word of God but I didn’t want to read it. When I had no other choice left, I grabbed the Bible and jumped up onto my Bunk Bed. I didn’t start reading at the beginning like a normal book, I just opened it up in the middle, because I assumed it was simply a book of Poems or Proverbs of some sort, so why start at the beginning. It was just as I thought “Proverbs”…but as I laid there reading this book, I was amazed at the stuff I was reading.

I started writing down all these cool sayings that I was reading, before long I had 6 pages all filled up.
One of the passages that I wrote down turned out to be the first promise that I saw God fulfill in me.
Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

I had terrible insomnia, I could never fall asleep unless I was dead tired, but after I read through John 3:7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again”.

Then in Acts 16:30 ,31 Sirs ,what must I do to be saved?” Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved !!

And in the very next book in Romans 10:9-10 it says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

I asked God, Please Save Me, I do believe…..
And then I re-read that verse in Proverbs 3:24 and I asked God to give me that sweet sleep… I am telling you I slept for days, actually I have no idea how long I slept, with no clocks, no windows and the lights in the room that never go out, you never know what time it really was, but I felt like I had slept for days….I was sooooo pumped…

When I got out of Jail I started going to church and was so fired up for God, within a few months of being saved , I started going to Southern California Bible College, I was out witnessing on Tuesday nights, going to Wednesday Night Bible Studies, Thursday Night Picketing the local X rated theatre, by the time I was a year old in the Lord I had over 1000 verses memorized and then some well meaning brother came up to me at Church and gave me a book called “Burnout in Ministry”, he whispered to me “I know you don’t need it now, but you will, so keep it handy. Well, I kept that book for over 25 years and still never cracked the cover. I finally gave it away with all my other books when I went ALL DIGITAL.

When I got saved I didn’t have anything, I was living with my girlfriend and her family and I knew enough of the Scriptures by the time I got out of Jail, I knew that that couldn’t continue, so I put up a little note on the Church Bulletin Board, and explained on that note that I was a new believer and I know that God didn’t want me living with my girlfriend without being married. I said I was getting an Apartment and I didn’t have a spoon, fork, pillow, blanket….etc etc… I didn’t have anything , and if anybody could contribute anything to help me I would be totally appreciative….

By the end of that next week I had soooo many things I really had to sort through it all and take the best stuff and then called Salvation Army to come and get the rest.

God has blessed me sooo much, when I first came to Oregon over 35 years ago , I had absolutely 0 jobs, it was terrible, I remember one time my son asking if we could get a taco from Taco Bell, I had to tell him , NO, we can’t afford it….

But God is so faithful, he has blessed me in sooooo many ways.

God Totally Rocks….AMEN

I have a couple of verses for you:

Hebrews11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

I'm replying to someone who said that in the Greek and in the Hebrew there are words that could mean different things and so one thing might not mean what we think it means, this is my reply

Yeah I don't know anything about that brother

I know a little Greek and a little Hebrew

They live right down the street from me

But the context is everything

Not dissecting each and every word

The context is clear

Saved means just that

If you were in peril

And I were to come to the rescue

We would both tell a story from a different perspective

But both of us would say you were saved

And I saved you

2000 years from now

It's a whole different story

I say I like the T-shirt you're wearing

I say it looks really hot

Totally cool

2000 years from now

He had a shirt of fire

The shirt could cool him in the heat of the day

Whatever

Dissecting words

Context is everything

When The word of God talks about being saved

For there is salvation in no one else

For there is no other name under heaven giving among men whereby we must be saved

Nobody needs to be saved from a metaphor

When Jesus said in John 14:6

I am
the way
the truth
and the life

No man comes under the father except by me

Every person who doesn't come to the Father except by Jesus is not saved

And they will all be lined up in Revelation 21:8 and tossed into the lake of fire

Where at that time

the beast and the false prophet have already been there for a thousand years

There's no metaphor here

It's black and white

Thankfully it's not my job to convince anybody of anything

I am super happy to report

Isaiah 55:11
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.

That's pretty clear also...

It's only my job to spread the word of God

The Holy Spirit impresses it upon each heart that it reaches

And it will accomplish what God desires

Each person who hears the Word of God

Makes a decision right then and there

Whether to believe it or to scrap it

I suggest believing it

Just like It says in Acts 20:26

26Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all people.

27For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

Ezekiel 3:18

When I say to the wicked,

‘You will certainly die,’

and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live,

that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing,

but his blood I will require from your hand.

Doesn't apply to me

I will tell everybody who's willing to listen

This is not a metaphor

The word of God is 100% real

Truthful

Jesus is the word of God

And the word became flesh

John 1: 1-14

As far as heaven is concerned

Scrapping Plato

Using just the word of God

We already saw in Luke 16

And of course you can go there and read the whole passage get the whole context but paradise was in the same location as Hades was just separated by a giant chasm and once Jesus ascended he took with him Paradise and so it was taken away no longer is in that spot but it is with him wherever he is is Paradise

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be.

Pretty cut and dried

1 Corinthians 2:9
THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HUMAN HEART, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM

From these two verses we get Jesus is preparing a place for his own

Those who have been washed of their sins by his redeeming blood

2 Corinthians 5:8

6Therefore, being always of good courage,

and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—

7for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8

but we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

From this verse we get there's a preference and a preference would be to be with Jesus

where he is is where we will be

not a metaphor

Philippians 1:21
But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me;

and I do not know which to choose.

23But I am hard-pressed from both directions,

having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;

24yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sakes

Clearly not a metaphor

He's between a rock and a hard space

Stay here and help the disciples

Or go be with Jesus

Which is far far far better 💖
