If you are a small business owner with no employees you really ought to look at the Solo 401k for your retirement. The big difference is in the contribution limits:

IRA limits 2021 = $6,000 ($7,000 if you are over 50 years old)

Solo 401k limits 2021 = $58,000 ($64,500 if you are over 50 years old.)

What’s a business owner to do without the standard employer-backed retirement plan? A solo 401(k) may be your answer.

The S**C is yet another indicator of a rapacious market. In a S**C investors pool funds together BEFORE knowing what they are investing in. We went from 59 S**Cs in 2019 to 248 in 2020. I don't advise putting on a blindfold before driving, and I don't advise shelling out money before choosing an investment.

Special purpose acquisition companies, or S**Cs, are exploding in popularity. They allow companies to go public without all the hoops of an initial public offering.

My take on Robinhood: It is perfectly reasonable to manage your own investments as long as your remember that trading is not investing.

Trading without homework is gambling. Investing, on the other hand takes time. It takes homework. It takes patience. Did I mention homework?

Whenever the market heats up, like it has recently, people worry about missing out on their big chance to increase their wealth. There is a frenzied feel to it. Some say a "greedy" feel. It hasn't been hard to attain gains since March. That can lead to a false sense of confidence and unwise decision-making.
