A major East Fort Worth property is moving toward a very different future.

The former Woodhaven Country Club site is being reimagined as a large mixed-use redevelopment, and projects like this can have a meaningful impact on the surrounding area.

The current concept includes a combination of housing, community amenities, restaurants, retail, office space, and redevelopment of portions of the former golf-course property.

For homeowners and buyers, this kind of growth matters because real estate is influenced by much more than the house itself.

New development can affect:

• nearby housing demand
• access to restaurants, retail, and services
• infrastructure investment
• how buyers perceive a neighborhood
• the long-term direction of an area

What makes this project especially interesting is that it represents redevelopment within an established part of Fort Worth, not simply expansion farther out.

That can be a very different kind of growth story.

When older properties are thoughtfully reimagined, they can bring new energy, investment, and opportunities to communities that already have history and established neighborhoods around them.

I’ll be watching this project as it moves forward because changes like this can shape how people live, work, and invest in an area for years to come.

There is something especially rewarding about helping buyers get to the finish line on a home that feels right for them.

I’m so happy for my buyers on the purchase of **9348 Moncrief St in Fort Worth**. From the search to the negotiations to all of the details that come after going under contract, it was a privilege to represent them through the process.

If you live in Granbury, this is something I believe we should all be paying attention to.

We already know what residents near the Mitchell Bend/Wolf Hollow area have experienced with the existing cryptocurrency mining operation, particularly the concerns surrounding persistent noise.

That matters to me not only as a REALTOR®, but as someone who lives here too.

Now there is another much larger proposed project being discussed in Granbury: Project Patriot, a roughly 2,000-acre digital infrastructure and AI campus planned for the former Knox Ranch property near West US 377.

The two projects are not the same, and I think that distinction is important.

The existing Mitchell Bend operation has generated years of complaints from nearby residents about noise. Project Patriot is still in the planning and review process, and its developer says the proposed campus is being designed with enclosed facilities, sound suppression, landscaped buffers, berms, a closed-loop water system and independent power generation.

I certainly understand that technology and infrastructure are part of Texas growth.

But I also believe growth has to take into account the people who already live here.

Noise pollution, traffic, water, infrastructure, visual impact and proximity to residential property are not small issues when you are talking about a project of this scale.

From a real estate standpoint, I also pay attention to something else: buyer perception.

People do not choose a home based only on bedrooms, bathrooms and price. They choose a neighborhood, surroundings, quality of life and what they believe that area will look and feel like years from now.

That is why I believe Granbury residents deserve clear information, transparency and a meaningful opportunity to understand what is being proposed before major development moves forward.

I’ll continue following this closely because Granbury is my home, and because decisions involving land and development can have long-term implications for the people who live here.

National Relaxation Day may have been August 15, but I think this is a reminder worth sharing any day of the year. ❤️

Life can get busy very quickly. Work, appointments, responsibilities, taking care of everyone else… sometimes we forget that slowing down is important too.

Make time for the things that bring you joy.

Sit by the water. Take the walk. Read the book. Have dinner with someone you love. Enjoy the porch a little longer. Put the phone down for a while and simply be present.

One of the things I love about places like Granbury is that they remind you there really is value in slowing down and enjoying where you are.

We spend so much time planning what comes next that sometimes we need to appreciate what is right in front of us.

So even though we missed the official day, I’m sharing the reminder anyway:

Slow down when you can. Make room for joy. And enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build. 💛

This closing happened a little while ago, but some milestones are too meaningful not to celebrate.

If you’re looking for something fun to do in Granbury, I have to recommend this one! ☂️🎭

I recently saw Mary Poppins at Granbury Theatre Company and it was absolutely outstanding.

The actors, the vocals, the dancing, the entire performance were top notch. I’ve seen several shows there over the years, and I can honestly say this was the best show I’ve ever seen at this theater.

We are so fortunate to have this kind of talent and live entertainment right here in Granbury.

Mary Poppins runs through September 6, so if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend adding it to your plans.

Supporting the places and people that make our communities special is one of my favorite things about living and working here. Granbury Theatre Company is definitely one of them. ❤️
