🏡 That Extra Bedroom… Is It Really a Bedroom?
You walk into a home advertised as having four bedrooms, but one of those rooms looks more like an office.
Does it really count as a bedroom? 🤔
Not every room that can fit a bed necessarily qualifies as a bedroom!
There are several things to consider, including:
🔑 Windows and emergency escape requirements
🔑 Closets and other room features
🔑 Room size and ceiling height
🔑 How the space was designed and approved
A finished basement, converted office, or bonus room might look like the perfect extra bedroom, but that doesn't automatically mean it should be counted as one.
Our tip: When buying or selling, don't rely on the advertised bedroom count alone. Verify the details, especially when rooms have been added or converted.
