NeighborWorks Montana NWMT helps people across the state find and keep homes they can afford.

Through homebuyer education, financial coaching, and partnerships with local organizations, we support stronger communities and more housing opportunities for Montana. NeighborWorks Montana has helped more than 4,500 families become homeowners in Montana and assisted in the creation of nearly 200 affordable apartments. Through down payments loans, education and individual mentoring, the NeighborWorks Network of local agencies helps families and individuals find stable homes where they can grow and thrive.

Some photos of the Rural Roadshow in Winett last week, where NWMT was a sponsor and attendee! Bravo to investing in and showcasing rural community spaces!

This Roadshow honored some awesome revitalization projects in Winett. Among them, a community center, the rehabilitation of a historic courthouse into office spaces and long-term rentals, and a historic building with downstairs commercial space and upstairs short-term rentals.

The Rural Roadshow is a statewide roving event put on by MSU's extension office. The Roadshow's vision is to bring rural community leaders, volunteers, trailblazers, and sparkplugs together with regional and statewide agencies, organization and professionals under one roof.

Happy 2nd anniversary, Old Hellgate Village!

Old Hellgate Village’s second year was a busy one! The board assisted in applying for funding for their wastewater replacement project, they replaced their well pump, organized a clean-up week, and hosted a community BBQ! This summer residents spent time outside enjoying their beautiful view and communal lawn.

A huge congratulations to board and residents for a fruitful beginning of hard work, growth, and community spirit. We can't wait to see what's next!

HomeStretch is a no interest loan product that funds up to 30% of the cost of a home. In exchange, homebuyers agree to a limited equity share at the time of resale. Shared equity means homebuyers receive help with the home purchase in exchange for agreeing to share the home's future appreciation with future HomeStretch borrowers. This assistance can be used for the down payment, closing costs, or affordability gaps in the purchase price.

Here's how to access HomeStretch:

1. Work with an eligible first mortgage lender to determine if you're eligible.
2. If you qualify, your participating lender will complete the pre-qualification application on your behalf.
3.Meet with a NeighborWorks approved housing counselor to ensure HomeStretch is right for you!
