This is awful!

UTILITY SCAM ALERT! A few elderly community members have reported a possible scam attempt happening in Great Falls. Luckily, these residents were too savvy for the scamsters and did not fall for it. Please talk to your elderly neighbors, friends, and family, to make them aware.

WHAT'S THE SCAM?
🦺 Two men in their 20s-30s
🦺 Wearing bright orange vests
🦺 No City logo or uniform
🦺 Refuse to identify themselves properly
🦺 Walking down the block, no vehicle associated
🦺 Tells resident they have leaks and/or broken pipes
🦺 Encourage resident to hire certain people to fix the issues
🦺 Tells resident they need to pay them for "fire hydrant usage/leaks" or "standing water in their gutters"

🚫 The Utilities team checked the complainant's accounts and found no evidence of leaks.

⚠️ Official City of Great Falls - Local Government utility workers wear neon yellow or blue shirts or jackets with a logo (like Carter in the photo), and they drive vehicles with the same logo. Legitimate private utility companies usually also have logo'd attire and vehicles.
