As a fellow Allouez resident, I’m thrilled to see they’re keeping some soul of Sal’s alive! 🧡
Hello everyone—I hope you're doing well!
I have some big news to share, so I’ll cut right to the chase: We’re very excited to announce that we’re opening a second location in Green Bay!
We’ve been lucky enough to acquire the old Austin’s of Allouez/Sal’s Foods. We weren’t actively looking for a second location, but we’ve always loved this place—and when it suddenly became available in March, we had to throw our hat in the ring and see what might happen.
Over the years, we’ve also been asked many many times when we’re bringing a store to Green Bay. After many late nights and with support from Sal and Jessica at Sal’s Foods, the Small Business Development Cener at UWGB, and Nicolet National Bank—we got it!
It’s one of the last true corner grocery stores in Green Bay, and as far as we’re concerned, a local landmark.
What does this mean for Sturgeon Bay?
First off—our trusty Trina has been promoted to Front of House Manager (woohoo!!) She’ll be working alongside the rest of our amazing HW staff to keep things running smoothly.
Also, my wife Caitlin has officially left her corporate job to come support the store. She’s got a strong background in the natural grocery world and brings a whole toolbox of skills and ideas we’re excited to put to use.
This expansion will also help strengthen Sturgeon Bay—with more vendor connections, better pricing, and even stronger access to Wisconsin-made products.
Sturgeon Bay will always be the OG, and it will always be our home. We’re just excited to bring a little bit of that Door County magic to Green Bay!
What’s next?
- Build out the Green Bay store
- Open doors in October/November
- Keep moving forward with upgrades at the Sturgeon Bay location
- And so much more!
Lastly, none of this would be remotely possible without the support from the Sturgeon Bay/Door County community and our amazing staff. I’m so grateful for the ongoing support and belief in this store.
