This one was especially meaningful for me.

Lu was our neighbor for 15 years, back when my kids were growing up. Her house was always their favorite place to visit—she never let them leave without a good treat.

After losing her husband several years ago, Lu knew that someday she would be ready to sell the home they had shared for so many years. When that time finally came, the house sold in just two days—and to exactly the right family.

While reviewing the offers, we discovered something incredible: the buyer had been one of her late husband's nurses at the Lombardi Cancer Center. If there was ever a sale that felt meant to be, this was it.

Over the years, I've helped many people navigate the sale of a home after losing a loved one. One of the most common questions I hear is, "When is the best time to sell?" My answer is always the same: there is no right season, month, or timeline. Everyone's journey is different. For some, the decision comes quickly. For others, it takes years.

The best time to sell isn't determined by the market or the calendar—it's simply when you're ready.

This closing is a reminder that sometimes the right home isn't the one that's listed online.

A few months ago, a past client referred their friends to me - a wonderful family from Michigan—a mom, dad, and their four young daughters. They were making a big move to Northeast Wisconsin to give their girls the opportunity to pursue higher-level athletics and all the opportunities that come with it.

We searched the market, but nothing available truly checked the boxes for what they needed. Rather than settling, we got creative.

I reached out to my network in De Pere to see if anyone knew of a homeowner who might be considering a move. Before long, we found an off-market opportunity—and from the moment they walked through the door, it just felt right.

Today, they officially become homeowners in a house that fits their family, their goals, and this exciting new chapter of life.

These are the moments that remind me why relationships matter in real estate. Sometimes the perfect home isn't on the market. Sometimes it's found through connections, conversations, and a little persistence.

As a mom myself, I know the lengths we'll go to in order to create opportunities for our kids, which made helping this family especially meaningful.
