This kitty needs an Angel 🙏🏼
NOW 3 DAYS LEFT TO FIND SWEETIE PIE'S FOSTER PARENT(S) A.K.A. - HER FOSTER ANGEL! HELP US FIND THEM IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
- Keep sharing on social media - you never know who may share your plea, and who they know who could help.
- Share this to a community page you follow!
- Share this to your Nextdoor app (save the photo, copy and paste the text into a post).
- Tag a PERSON who fits what Sweetie Pie needs in a foster home (only PEOPLE can become foster parents - tag PEOPLE only)
- Talk to your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors and if they are a fit, tell them to apply! If not, tell them to tell their friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors
- Tag a news reporter! Today we saw a story done by one of our local media outlets about a car vandalized with cheese and ranch dressing...but no one can do a story to help save one of our local animals with special needs and considerations? We are SO disappointed in this community. More than we ever have been.
- Pray. This cat deserves the most amazing person(s) in this community to serve as her foster parent(s). Ask God for this. We are.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS NOT HELPING. DON'T BE THAT PERSON.
PLEASE - don't write "I'll help" "I'll take her" "I'm going to apply" or the like in our comments. You have to actually return a foster application to become a foster (see below). People that write those things never do, and they HURT the animal we are trying to help because people think, oh, they got the help they needed - and this kitty's REAL hero that may have applied scrolled right past thinking it was taken care of. It's not taken care of until WE announce we have a foster for her - which we haven't done yet. Yesterday, we had people, write in our comments, "I know you said writing this hurts your efforts, but" and went ahead and did it anyway! Our foster parents are our teammates - they have to be as much a match for our volunteers who will be working with them as our animals - and we don't want to work with someone who would do anything to hurt any animals.
We will be keeping the comments section clean for those that actually are listening to us and want to help. All the extraneous will be removed, but be a peach, and don't make our volunteers waste their time cleaning up after you.
For those who haven't heard, this is Sweetie Pie. She has lived her entire life (7-ish years) in a hoarder house along with her housemates. We found a foster-angel for her housemates, but we need to pull them all out of the house at the same time so we can't save any of them until we have a foster secured for Sweetie Pie. The house they are all living in is being foreclosed on (which is how our director discovered them - without her, these cats would have never been known about, and never had an opportunity for a better life), but the missing puzzle towards the life these cats always deserved is a foster home for Sweetie Pie. Here's what she needs:
A quiet, calm, serene adult-only foster home with no dogs. Blind animals ambulate through their space by memorizing it, so she needs a stable, established home where things are not moved around. She can be the only animal in the home, or we can place her with 1 or 2 MALE resident cats, age 5 years or older, and of an easy-going demeanor - we want any cat to be gentle with her - which is why seniors are okay!
All of Milwaukee Pets Alive's foster homes must be located in the counties of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and Ozaukee. We are not able to accommodate foster placements outside those areas.
IF YOU ARE A MATCH FOR WHAT WE ARE STATING SWEETIE PIE NEEDS, YOU MUST SUBMIT A FOSTER APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED TO BE HER FOSTER PARENT AND YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO DO SO - RUN, DON'T WALK TO www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster AND RETURN IT TODAY!
IF YOU ARE NOT A MATCH, PLEASE HELP US FIND HERS BY DOING THE THINGS WE ASKED ABOVE.
Questions must be sent to [email protected] Our volunteers are exhausted by this after 119 days of pleading for help. At this point, we are only able to answer those emailed questions related to potential matches to fill this foster need.
