Beginning on Monday, April 6, the City of Greensboro will end its routine Temporary Free-Chlorine Conversion Program, a preventative maintenance initiative that optimizes the water quality in the City’s drinking water distribution system. During this time, the City will resume using chloramines as its standard federally and state-approved drinking water disinfectant. Both chlorinated and chloraminated water are safe for drinking, cooking, and other intended uses. The switch, in conjunction with surrounding water utilities, will take about five days. During this time, some users may notice temporary taste or odor differences in their water. This is a normal part of the transition, which does not adversely impact the water quality. Specialized industries such as medical facilities offering kidney dialysis, fish tank and pond owners, and some businesses that use water in their production process should take precautions that may require filtration and treatment system adjustments. These customers will be contacted directly.

This routine maintenance program is being performed in partnership with other water utilities, including Archdale, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Randleman, Reidsville, and the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority.

If you haven't visited Seagrove yet, you're missing out! Only 45 minutes south of the Triad, this annual gallery tour is a wonderland of beautiful pottery. 

Coinciding with the Seagrove Potters 18th Annual Celebration of Spring Pottery Tour-Spring Kiln Openings Driving Tour on Saturday, April 18, 2026 (you can visit www.discoverseagrove.com for more info), the North Carolina Pottery Center will be celebrating NC's Clay Stories, Past and Present and holding an Open House (w/ free admission) from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

We are celebrating the 1st anniversary of our renovated and award-winning NC's Clay Stories, Past and Present exhibition, featuring its great pottery and large-screen digital interactives covering everything from Native American and Colonoware pottery.

Delores J Farmer (), an amazing potter from Durham, NC, will talk about Raku pottery and conduct Raku firing demonstrations throughout the day. (A more detailed schedule will be released closer to the event date.)

There will also be free food from noon until 1:30.

In addition to the new/renovated exhibit, raku demos, and free food, you'll be able to see two wonderful temporary contemporary shows, Clay Colorama (featuring 11 artists from across NC) and Fruitapalooza (featuring ECU students and alumni).

A new federal residential real estate rule aimed at cracking down on money laundering goes into effect Sunday.

Under the rule, when entities or trusts buy residential real property without financing, including all-cash sales and sales involving non-regulated lenders, a report listing the names of the entity or trusts’ individual beneficial owners, addresses, Social Security numbers and more, must be reported to the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

A closing or settlement agent is responsible for collecting the information and submitting the Real Estate Report to FinCEN by a date 30-60 days following the transaction's closing.

Wednesday, 2/4/26--Water main break affecting traffic on Battleground Ave through 6:00pm.

"If you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after the repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until clear."

Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction on the 2400 block of Battleground Avenue, from Markland Drive to Carroll Street, due to an eight-inch water main break.
