Micki and her husband, John Baird, came to Reynolds Plantation to spend New Year’s Eve 1998 and play some golf before returning to their home in suburban Chicago, Illinois. They had no intention of purchasing any real estate anywhere in the foreseeable future. She was a Vice President for a large paging company and he was working for IBM. They were so impressed with the beauty of Reynolds Plantati
on and the friendliness of the people that two weeks after their southern vacation ended they bought a lot at Reynolds Plantation. By December of 1999, they were moving full time to Lake Oconee. Micki went to work for Reynolds Plantation as Resale Manager in March, 2000. It was the perfect opportunity to learn the property and its values. In October, 2001 she became a Buyer’s Agent. Since that time she has sold more than $100 Million in real estate in our community. Micki is very active in the community through her membership in the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties. She has served that organization as its President and Assistant District Governor as well as many other positions. She is a multiple Paul Harris fellow with Rotary International. She does Meals on Wheels and delivers for Second Harvest Food Bank every month. Micki is also an active member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church. She is proudest of her two daughters, Anne Tanner Berry and Cecelia Tanner who live in nearby Atlanta, John’s two children, Susan Baird and Andy Baird who live in Los Angeles and Richmond, VA respectively and John’s two grandsons, Keith and Dakota, all of whom enjoy visiting Reynolds Plantation.
