We have some bittersweet news. We are still the best of friends, and we are still both staying in real estate, but we will be continuing forward to two different brokerages.

If you have worked with The Village Team, you know how much we love and respect each other, and our clients! You also know that Real Estate is an industry that is deeply personal and tends to infiltrate every other area of your life.

This summer, as we reflected on where we are in our lives, compared to where we started, we realized that logistically we both needed a change.

We want to say the biggest thank you in the world to those who supported us individually and separately. We are finishing out two years together with 46 homes sold and countless lives touched. We couldn’t have asked for a better foundation and launching pad. Our lives and careers are in a wonderful place, and we are excited for our futures!

let’s talk about DUE DILIGENCE. Due diligence has always been an option in South Carolina, but in June of this year it became mandatory on our state contract. Due diligence is a time period the buyer has to inspect the home. During this time period the buyer can release the contract for any reason, but they must pay the termination fee (varies from offer to offer). This is truly good news for buyers because during the due diligence period, they can rest assured that they are protected! Sellers are not required to make any repairs that are asked for during due diligence, but we always try to help both parties come to an agreement if there is anything majorly wrong with the house.
