Greenville’s West End could soon see a major new mixed-use project. 👀

Plans for the former Greenville Transit Authority property on Augusta Street include:
🏠 Up to 385 residential units
🏨 Two hotels
🍽️ Retail and restaurant space
🐶 A dog park
🚗 A parking garage

The 3.65-acre site is next to Fluor Field and Gather GVL. The project is one of several major developments set to be discussed at Greenville’s Aug. 25 project preview meeting.

90 Upstate veterans recently made a special trip to Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸

Honor Flight Upstate SC brought together 81 Vietnam War veterans, eight Korean War veterans, and one of the Upstate’s last remaining World War II veterans to visit the memorials honoring their service.

The veterans also placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. When they returned to South Carolina, hundreds of family members and community members were there to welcome them home. ❤️

🌮 Tipsy Taco (Tipsy Taco) is coming to downtown Greenville!
The locally owned Mexican restaurant and taco franchise will take over the former White Duck Taco space at 20 S. Main St.
The downtown location is expected to open in the next few weeks.
Tipsy Taco already has locations across Greenville and the Upstate, along with several locations in North Carolina.

BMW Plant Spartanburg just unveiled the next X5. 🚙
The 2027 BMW X5 will offer five power options, including BMW’s first mass-production hydrogen fuel cell model.
The iX5 Hydrogen is expected to have a range of about 466 miles per tank.
The all-electric iX5 can also fully charge in about 30 minutes.
The new X5 will be built right here in South Carolina. 👀

Greenville Federal Credit Union is expanding. 🏗️

The credit union is investing **$9.5 million** in a new three-story administrative building on Wade Hampton Boulevard.

The 12,000-square-foot building will add office, meeting, and collaboration space for its growing team.

Construction is expected to finish by **mid-2027**.

Greenville Tech is investing $32 million to train the next generation of welders. 🔥
The new 44,000-square-foot Center for Welding and Automation Excellence can serve up to 366 students each day.
It includes training in robotics, laser welding, AI-powered welding and more.
The need is growing too. Upstate South Carolina already has 6,598 welding-related jobs.
A big investment in a growing local workforce. 👏

Greenville’s Laurens Road area is about to see a major change. 👀
The first phase of the Bolden Street District is moving closer to construction, with site work expected to begin this fall.
The full project will transform 90 acres along Laurens Road into a mixed-use community with:
🏠 2,900 residences
🏢 500,000 sq. ft. of office space
🛍️ 750,000 sq. ft. of retail space
🌳 1.5 miles along the Swamp Rabbit Trail
🍽️ Restaurants, shops and gathering spaces
The first neighborhood will cover about 30 acres near Verdae Commons Drive. It will include a new Bolden Street, apartments, retail, restaurants, offices and a public gathering space called Bolden Square.
Plans also include paths connecting the district to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
The full project is expected to take 10 to 15 years to complete.

A free community event is coming to Greenville for Falls Prevention Awareness Day. 💙
Bon Secours St. Francis LifeWise will host a free falls prevention event on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at McAllister Square.
The event will include expert speakers, local resources, and practical tips to help older adults stay safe, healthy, and independent.
Registration is encouraged.

A new national retailer is coming to downtown Greenville. 👀

Faherty has signed a 10-year lease at 200 N. Main St. for a 2,742-square-foot store.

This will be the brand’s first location in the Upstate and only its third store in South Carolina.

Faherty is known for clothing and lifestyle products with a relaxed, coastal feel.

The new store is expected to open in 2027.

Another national name is choosing downtown Greenville. And that says a lot about the city’s growing retail scene. 👏
