Growth is Life!

​At our core, every individual at Joyner Commercial Real Estate believes that a community is either moving forward or it’s sliding backward.

There is no such thing as simply "staying the same."

​We often hear that Greenville should "stop growing" (we're full), but we only have to look across our own state to see what happens when investment dries up and progress stalls.

Towns like Allendale, Bamberg, and Bennettsville have the same highway access and history that we do—yet they are currently facing the reality of "no growth."

​In those communities, stagnation isn't a peaceful status quo; it’s a crisis.

​Shrinking Schools: When a tax base disappears, the schools are the first to suffer.

Allendale County has seen a population decline of over 20% in the last decade.

​Loss of Basic Services: While we debate new amenities and projects, these towns are fighting to keep grocery stores and medical clinics from closing their doors.

​The "Export" of Our Youth: The most heartbreaking result of no growth is that a town’s primary export becomes its own children, who are forced to move to cities like Greenville (or even some other state) just to find a career.

​We understand that "growing pains" can be frustrating. Traffic and construction are challenges that require smart, intentional planning. However, those are SUCCESS problems. They are infinitely better than "dying pains"—the abandoned buildings and disappearing opportunities that come when a city stops evolving.
