YOU HAVE 45 DAYS TO SHOP MORTGAGES—USE IT
🏡 💰

Here’s something too many buyers don’t know:
once you receive a prequalification or pre-approval from one lender, you’ll have 45 days to shop around with other lenders without damaging your credit score.
(Multiple mortgage inquiries within a 45-day window regularly count as a single inquiry for credit-scoring purposes) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

During those 45 days, you should:
👉🏽Request loan estimates from at least 3 lenders (more if you have time)
👉🏽Compare the Loan Estimate (LE) forms side by side—LEs are standardized, so we can see exactly what each lender is charging
👉🏽Ask questions about costs or fees you don’t understand
👉🏽Ask if fees are negotiable (some can be)
👉🏽Consider the lender’s level of service and responsiveness, not just the numbers.
