Blue Pearl Vet in Mt. Pleasant is a disaster

This practice, who call themselves 'specialists' were horrifically incompetent and negligent in pursuing the correct diagnosis of our boy. He was misdiagnosed from the first day he was there and we lost our precious boy due to their refusal to consider other diagnoses and to give him the needed care. The staff who were calling the shots, I understand it was a Dr. Libby and a Dr. Hirsch, refused to consider misdiagnosis. I was told they would not do a CT because of the holiday weekend and we would have to wait until Tuesday- after Labor Day - for a CT to be read!! So, just what is the definition of 'emergency 24 hour care'? Our dog was obvisouly getting more ill by the hour and they just kept pumping him with antibiotics. After more than 48 hours on the strongest antibiotics they have it was obvious even to us non professionals that it was not working. We watched him suffer, repeatedly pleading for intervention, which they refused! After 5 nights in this so called hospital we lost this precious part of our family due their blatant negligence and refusal to try to correctly diagnose him. It was determined after he died that he was indeed misdiagnosed.

To add insult to tragedy we spent over $3000 PER DAY for these so called 'specialists'. We even received a phone call at 4:30 AM demanding more money on the spot if we wanted them to continue to care for him. I told them I would be there in the morning with the money but they demanded $3600. I was told if I wanted them to continue his care I would have to give them a card number right then on the phone. So they were just going to stop his care in the middle of the night?? Blue Pearl is owned by Mars Candy and all they are about is the corporate money. The turnover at this office is indicative of the quality of care. I will tell anyone and everyone to NEVER go to this place for any reason.
