18 years in real estate. EIGHTEEN. YEARS.

I’ve walked through thousands of homes. I’ve seen questionable DIY projects, interesting decorating choices, things growing where things should absolutely not be growing, and enough inspection surprises to write a book.

But this, my friends… this is a first.

Imagine walking into a showing with your clients. Everything is going beautifully. You step outside to enjoy the peaceful, wooded backyard. Birds chirping. Trees swaying. Everyone is picturing morning coffee on the porch…

Then BAM.

There’s a BODY in the woods.

Forget a jump scare. I would’ve needed a defibrillator, a new pair of pants, and probably the rest of the afternoon off.

Once you realize it’s fake? Absolutely hilarious.

But then the Realtor part of my brain kicks in and I’m looking directly at the listing agent like… Ma’am. We need to talk.

Because while somebody thought this was a hysterical little backyard prank, imagine the wrong buyer stumbling across it. Someone panics, falls, gets injured—or God forbid has a serious medical event.

Congratulations. Your funny little prop just became a whole different kind of transaction problem.

And can you imagine having to explain THAT phone call to your seller?

After 18 years, I genuinely thought I had seen it all.

Just saying… maybe save the fake dead bodies for Halloween and not active showings.
