Does baking soda really kill weeds naturally? 🤔🥀 Well, yes, but there’s a catch.

It’s essential to recognize that baking soda dehydrates all plants—not just those weeds you’re trying to control. Sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda for short, chemically draws water out of plant roots and leaves, leaving the plant to wilt and die.

It's also easy to overdo it — baking soda has this effect on all plants, so be sure to sprinkle carefully! There are good, better, and best ways to apply baking soda to your garden, both wet and dry methods, and there are also a few alternatives if you're wary of using sodium bicarbonate on your crops.
