Those of you who know me know that I love older homes. I was honored to be chosen as the listing agent for the original Talmadge/Irving House. A little background direct from the Greene County Historical book. Many know it to be on the west side of Route 32 going north out of the center of Town but did you know it was built in the 1700’s on the east side of Route 32 and in 1790 was moved across the street. It was on that side of the road when it was sold in 1845 for $425.00. It is widely considered one of the oldest homes in Greenville. It has been in the Irving family for more than 100 years and was recently tastefully renovated - keeping some of the original features like the exposed beams, floors and even utilizing some of the old doors to make a pocket door. Today it left the stewardship of the Irving family and was transferred to a new family who hopefully will continue to love the home for years to come.
