BMW announced Wednesday its plans to begin making electronic vehicles at the plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Details are coming out about a future Downtown Convention Center and Museum. This would be a huge benefit to downtown shops, restaurants and hotels and would likely lead to the continued expansion and growth of Downtown Greenville.

The conference center is in the $80 million range and would, if built, be downtown's "economic nexus," Mayor Knox White says.

The reopening of the Swamp Rabbit Trail on the edge of downtown Greenville is part of ongoing construction of Unity Park, scheduled to open in April.
