Love Dowtown McCaysville!!! 🥰
The little “twin towns” of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee let you stand with one foot in each state, right along the bright blue line painted across the old steel bridge that spans the Toccoa-Ocoee River. These two former mining towns sit face-to-face and share the same main street, even though a state border runs straight through it. Walk between Georgia and Tennessee as you browse small shops, breweries, and cafés set inside historic brick buildings that date back to the copper boom days. The area once produced large amounts of copper ore in the late 1800s, helping build the towns you see today. You can also step off the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway right here, grab a meal by the water, and watch rafters tackle the nearby Ocoee River, which hosted the whitewater events during the 1996 Summer Olympics. It’s an easygoing place where two states meet in one small, walkable downtown.
