Today I get to celebrate one of my very favorite people; my grandpa, who turns 95 years young!

He’s an Air Force veteran, a world traveler, an incredible storyteller, and quite possibly the sharpest 95-year-old you’ll ever meet. His memory never ceases to amaze me. He can tell you stories from his travels while serving in the Air Force, remember people and places from decades ago, and describe an Aurora that looked very different from the one we know today.

He remembers businesses that have come and gone, places everyone used to visit, how different parts of the city have changed, and countless little details about Colorado over the years. I could sit and listen to his stories for hours.

But of all the things he’s done, all the places he’s been, and all the stories he has to tell, I’m most grateful that I simply get to call him Grandpa.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa. Thank you for the stories, the laughs, the love, and 95 years of being one pretty incredible human. ❤️🇺🇸

And for the record… this age looks pretty darn good on you!

Colorado gives us plenty of reasons to get out and explore, but there’s something pretty great about having a home you actually want to stay home in, too.

September is here, which means we’ve officially made it to the “BER” months! 🍂

There’s just something about this stretch of the year that makes me appreciate home a little more; open windows and changing leaves, pumpkins on the porch, gathering around the table, and eventually those first snowy Colorado nights.

And because I can never resist a beautiful house, I had to give each month its own personality:

🍁 September: a cozy Craftsman
🎃 October: a slightly spooky Victorian
🦃 November: a warm Tudor
❄️ December: a snow-covered mountain cabin

I’m not quite ready to rush through September yet, but I’m very ready for everything these next few months bring!

I love fall in Colorado, but I’m not quite ready to rush summer out the door.

There’s still time for Palisade peaches, farmers markets, ice cream stops, patio nights, Colorado sunsets and one more summer adventure (or two).

Adonea is one of those Aurora neighborhoods you may not stumble across unless you have a reason to head east; and once you do, there’s quite a bit tucked inside.

Adonea has grown into a thoughtfully planned neighborhood with its own parks, pool, clubhouse, trails and gathering spaces, surrounded by the wide-open landscape that still defines this side of Aurora.

There’s a little more breathing room out here. Much of the neighborhood feels distinctly residential, with places to walk, play and spend time outside woven throughout the community. Summer afternoons can mean time at the pool, evenings bring neighbors out onto the trails, and seasonal events offer plenty of opportunities to gather close to home.

🌿 A Few Things to Know About Adonea:

• Community pool + clubhouse

• Parks, playgrounds + trails throughout the community

• Neighborhood events + seasonal activities

• A variety of home styles and sizes

• Located within Aurora Public Schools

• Convenient access to E-470, I-70 + DIA

• Surrounded by continued growth and development on Aurora’s eastern side

And that last one is worth watching. Eastern Aurora continues to grow, including Tributary, a nearly 1,000-acre community taking shape near I-70 and Harvest Road with plans for new homes, retail, parks, trails and gathering spaces.

Also planned for the area is Tributary Marketplace, a future King Soopers-anchored shopping center at E. 6th Avenue and Harvest Road, along with additional retail space. For a neighborhood that currently feels a little removed from Aurora’s larger shopping areas, those planned additions could bring more everyday conveniences closer to home.

Adonea feels distinctly different from some of Aurora’s more established neighborhoods; and that’s part of what makes it interesting. It offers a little extra breathing room, plenty of ways to enjoy the neighborhood itself, and a front-row seat to a part of Aurora that continues to grow and change.

If you’ve never ventured this far east in Aurora, Adonea might just be a neighborhood worth putting on your radar.

Love Where You Live: Wolf & Honey (Brighton, CO)

Some places instantly feel like a gathering spot; the kind of space where great drinks, good food, and warm atmosphere come together. Wolf & Honey in Brighton is exactly that. It’s the kind of menu where you’re guaranteed to find something that hits the spot.

Wolf & Honey is more than a coffee shop; it’s a community space. A place where friends catch up, families linger, colleagues meet, and neighbors become regulars. Whether you’re stopping in for a cozy moment alone or gathering with someone you love, it’s a spot that makes everyday life feel a little more special.
