🔲Buy fresh flowers from your local florist

🔲Reorganize one small area of your home

🔲Head outside for an evening stroll (it’s the most comfortable time of day!)

🔲Check your HVAC filters

Warmer weather has finally arrived and before you fire up the grill and kick back, there are a few tasks around the house to tackle.

✔️Make sure your AC unit is in good working order

✔️Before you fire up your grill, make sure your grill is clean

✔️Wash your windows

✔️Keep weeds in check and mulch your landscape

✔️Make repairs to your wood fences and gates

✔️Add a fertilizer to your lawn

✔️Fix any broken or damaged brick or stone throughout your patio

I hear this from homebuyers often….

One thing so many buyers want to see first is the kitchen. And with good reason, we spend so much time in this space each day. It needs to be functional but stylish.

So what do homebuyers/owners want to see in a kitchen right now?

I recently read that many interior designers are seeing a growing demand for modern kitchen designs but feel that it can often have an impersonal vibe.

To combat this, they have refined what they are dubbing the “Soft modern” kitchen design.

What does this mean?

Think of combos such as high-gloss finish on the cabinets and offset that with a matte wood finish for panels or open shelving.

What are your thoughts on this new design approach?

How important is a pre-approval? (hint: VERY!)

First, let’s define what pre-approval means.

Pre-approval means a lender has looked at your financial background and determined how much home you can afford.

Getting pre-approved can save you time so that you can really target your home search. For this reason, you want to make sure that they are current and updated!

According to our friends at Tucker Mortgage, if you intend on purchasing before the end of the year, now is the time to make sure you are pre-approved. Preapprovals are good for 120 days at Tucker Mortgage.

If you are already pre-approved, make sure you check with your lender to ensure your pre approval is still valid since rates have crept higher over the past couple of months.

It’s fireworks season 🎆, which is a fun time of year, but it can also be a dangerous time.

Consider some of these fireworks safety tips 🚩 if you choose to light your own fireworks this year:

🔸 Avoid buying fireworks in brown paper packaging - these are often meant only for professional use
🔸 Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not fully ignited
🔸 Keep a bucket of water or water hose handy for an emergency
🔸 Never carry fireworks in a pocket
🔸 Never shoot fireworks off in a metal or glass container
🔸 After you’ve lit a firework, make sure to completely douse it in water before discarding it
🔸 Always make sure fireworks are legal in your area before purchasing and lighting them
