As I drove throughout the City of Greenwood on Saturday morning September 28th, I had never personally seen such devastation. It broke my heart, but I can say that I am so proud of how we have all come together during this time of crisis. As your City Council Member, I have, and I will continue to be committed to working with all parties to ensure a strong recovery. I will continue to prioritize securing disaster relief funds, rebuilding infrastructure, and improving emergency preparedness. Serving this community has been my honor. Together with my fellow council members, community partners, and the dedicated citizens of Greenwood we have accomplished much by improving public safety, demolishing dilapidated housing, promoting and recruiting small businesses and manufacturing. We have added to the quality of life with attractions such as parks, the Uptown Market, splash pad, and have improved our city center to make it a vibrant destination. Our work is not done we need to ensure that we have smart and balanced growth, more affordable housing options, safer and cleaner neighborhoods, and we need to address the complicated homelessness issue.
