We can already feel the chill in the air! Fall is a time for hot tea, the first fire in the fireplace, a thick delicious stew and a warm coat or jacket for outdoor activities.

It's also time to take stock of your coat closet ... do you see where this is going? ☺️

If you have an extra new or gently used coat, jacket, windbreaker, warm sweater or other cold weather item, our men, women and children can use them! Bring them Monday-Saturday to My Father's House any time 8 am.-5 p.m.

A Glimpse of Leadership from Griselda

MFH Executive Assistant Griselda snuck this photo when Andrea wasn't looking! "Andrea tells us 'I would never ask my team members to do something I wouldn't do myself,'" Griselda says. "She lives that out."

Griselda continues: "She leads and develops her team, invests in us, and encourages us to grow. And she's not afraid to take off her shoes and get right in there to do the little things, like setting up a room for a staff lunch. Seeing her reminded me of Jesus--a leader choosing to serve."

Children's Center Urgent Need

Our children's center needs a double jogging stroller and plastic cover like those in the photos. This is an unbudgeted and unforeseen expense, so we are coming to you for help.

At the risk of getting 10 of them from our incredible Facebook friends, we're asking for donations to purchase these -- the cost with shipping is about $230.

Can you help? If so, please visit our donation page at www.familyshelter.org and click the DONATE button at the top. Then after choosing what gift amount you want to give, key in DOUBLE STROLLER in the notes section. We'll make sure to let everyone know when we've received enough for the purchase.

Congratulations to a Hardworking Graduate!

Megan is a people person with a contagious smile and a heart for others. She is kind, compassionate, hardworking, and a devoted mom. If there's one word that describes her journey, it's perseverance.

At MFH, Megan learned to budget, track her spending, pay down debt, build significant savings, and establish an emergency fund. She has taken important steps toward long-term stability. Now, she is excited to begin this next chapter in our Stepping Stones Community, and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Galatians 6:9 reflects her journey: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Congratulations, Megan! We are cheering you on as you build a bright future for you and your family.
