Hello everybody,
I had a really meaningful meeting this past week with someone else within the real estate industry, and as we were talking and getting to know each other better, they left me with a question that has really stuck with me.
We were discussing our passions and goals outside of work, what drives us. I shared that lately I’ve been feeling a strong pull to make a bigger impact on my community and to genuinely support my friends and the people around me as much as I can. At the same time, I also expressed that while I try to do as many “one-off acts of kindness,” as I can, I haven’t quite found something that feels as consistent or as impactful as I’d like it to be. Instead of just striving to help one person whenever I have the opportunity to do so, how can I help dozens+.
They asked me if I had ever considered using my work, my voice, and the opportunities that come with it to create a system that consistently gives back in the way I’m hoping to.
That question led to a really meaningful conversation, not just about finding ways for me to give back, but about how I can help foster a sense of community around giving back as well.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to start donating a portion of each of my closings to 1 of 6 non-profits or charities that are truly striving to make a positive and lasting difference in people’s lives.
Because I want this to be something that grows and involves the people around me, I’d love your help.
Which organizations do you see making a real, positive impact in people’s lives?
My goal is to create a list of six options, and at the end of every closing, I’ll ask my clients which organization they’d like the donation to go to, and I would then make the donation in their name instead. That way, they have a say in it, and together we can all play a small part in making things a little bit better.
I’d really appreciate any suggestions you have—feel free to comment or message me directly.
When the world is hard, let’s all work together to make it a little bit easier. Even if idealistic, let’s all try regardless.
