Through the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), HUD is reducing annual mortgage insurance premiums on mortgages from 0.85% to 0.55% for most new borrowers. This could mean an estimated $678 million in savings for American families by the end of 2023 alone.

Today's action supports the Biden-Harris Administration's goal of making homeownership more accessible and affordable for the nation's working families, particularly households of color who often rely on FHA-insured mortgages to reach homeownership.
