CLEAR TO CLOSE! 🔑🏡❤️

We got the news today, and I couldn’t be happier for my buyer!

Next Friday, he’ll close on his new home in Belpre, Ohio—a home for him, his mom, and his son. Three generations under one roof. And this time, it’s a roof that is THEIRS.

No more renting. They’re becoming homeowners! 🏡

This house is nearly two hours from Columbus, and I’ve made the trip twice—once to show him the property and again to meet him there for the inspection.

I don’t make that drive for every transaction. But sometimes the extra miles are worth it.

Is it a perfect house? Nope. It needs some work. But it’s functional, it has potential, and my buyer is a hard worker who isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and make it his own.

At $70,000, this closing is a great reminder of something I believe strongly: the size of the transaction doesn’t determine the importance of it.

This one is about a family getting something of their own. A place to work on, improve, make memories in—and call HOME.

We’ll close next Friday at our office in Groveport, and I already know handing him those keys is going to be one of those moments I’ll remember. 🔑❤️

Today my seller received the wonderful news that we're officially Clear to Close!

This wasn't just another home sale. It was an inherited property, and transactions like these often involve extra paperwork, careful planning, and many important decisions along the way.

🏡 Sometimes the best housing solution isn't moving—it's finding a new way to stay home.

Lately, I've been meeting more older homeowners who are facing a difficult reality.

They want to remain in the homes they love. They're independent and capable of caring for themselves. But rising costs—property taxes, insurance, utilities, and unexpected repairs—are making it harder to make ends meet.

Too often, families think the only options are to sell the home or move into assisted living.

The truth is, there may be other possibilities worth exploring.

While researching resources through the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, I came across a service called Nesterly. It connects older homeowners who have extra living space with carefully screened housemates seeking affordable housing. Depending on the arrangement, the housemate may simply pay rent or also provide help with everyday household tasks.

I haven't personally worked with Nesterly, so I can't speak from experience, but I believe it's the kind of resource that's worth knowing about. For some people, it could be one piece of the puzzle that helps them remain safely and comfortably in their own home.

If you or someone you love is beginning to navigate the challenges of aging in place, remember that there are often more options than you might think.

🏡 Homeowner Tip!

Have you ever noticed a window that looks foggy between the panes? Or maybe one room in your home just never seems to stay comfortable?

It might not mean you need brand-new windows.

A failed window seal is often the culprit, and in some cases, the glass can be repaired or replaced without replacing the entire window.

I’ve actually worked with The Glass Guru of West Columbus on a client’s home, and they did a great job. They were professional, communicated well, and helped solve the problem without recommending more than what was needed.

As a Realtor, I’m always looking for trusted local companies I can confidently recommend to clients. These are folks I’d happily keep on my referral list.
