iCyclone's Hurricane Sally Chase: Intense footage from the vicious inner core of Category-2 Sally at "Ground Zero"-- the small Alabama town of Gulf Shores.

In order to remove yard debris as efficiently as possible, City of Gulf Shores is requesting that residents separate debris into six different categories on the curb:

▶️ Electronics such as televisions, computers, stereos, phones and DVD players.

▶️ Large appliances such as refrigerators, washer/dryers, air conditioners, stoves, water heaters and dishwashers.

▶️ Hazardous waste such as oil, battery, pesticide, paint, cleaning supplies and compressed gas.

▶️ Vegetative debris such as tree branches, leaves, logs and plants.

▶️ Construction debris such as building materials, drywall, lumber, carpet, furniture and plumbing.

▶️ Household garbage such as bagged garbage, discarded food, paper and packaging.

Debris should not block the roadway and should avoid trees, poles, and other structures. The public's patience is appreciated during this time, as crews will be working diligently to remove debris as safely and efficiently as possible.

We lost water Wednesday afternoon so decided to leave Thursday morning. Can’t start the cleanup until parking lot is dry and can’t pump it until power is back on... so headed to our daughter’s in Santa Rosa. The pics are from Thursday morning. I know the ones from the car are awful but tried to capture the reality as we drove both on 59 and then beach express. Transmission lines down and poles broken all along the route. Damage consistently all the way to I10 and as Far East on I10 to beyond Pensacola. Made us realize power might be weeks away for us! At least we saw some of the cavalry headed in!
It took us almost 2 hours to make it to I10 because of no traffic lights working and lots of others leaving. I know everyone wants to start work but it is really a mess and we need to let the city and the utilities do their stuff. We'll go back as soon as we can and hope to see all of you there -- The Wrights, Martys,, and Mertons have hurricane stories..........
