🏡 **THE FED RAISED RATES - SHOULD YOU WAIT TO BUY?**
You may have seen today’s headlines about the Federal Reserve raising its benchmark interest rate by ¼ of a percentage point.
But here’s something important for homebuyers: **the Fed’s rate and mortgage rates are NOT the same thing!** Mortgage rates are influenced by several factors, including the bond market and economic conditions, so they don’t necessarily move in lockstep with the Fed.
So, should you put your home search on hold?
**Not necessarily.**
One thing I’ve learned in 25 years of real estate is that there is rarely a “perfect” time to buy.
🏠 **You can refinance a mortgage. You can't refinance the price you paid for a home.**
If you purchase the right home at a payment that fits your budget, you can begin building equity and potentially benefit from future appreciation. And if rates become more favorable down the road, refinancing may be an option.
Meanwhile, rent is an expense that generally doesn't build an asset you own.
The goal isn't to perfectly time interest rates ~ it's to find the **right home at a price and payment that make sense for you.**
📈 Rates can change.
🏡 Home values can appreciate.
💰 Your mortgage payments can build equity.
**If you've been waiting for the “perfect” rate, let's look at what today's market could mean for you. No pressure ~ just real numbers and good information.**
