🏡 CLOSED IN WINTHROP HARBOR! 🏡

This one was definitely a journey! Just when we thought we were at the finish line, we ran into a surprise at the final walkthrough when the electricity wasn't on. After a few last-minute hurdles and a lot of teamwork, we finally made it to the closing table yesterday!

Remember Block Estates? Well this one was actually in Oakview Estates right next store. This beautiful sprawling ranch offered over 4,400 square feet of living space on just over an acre, complete with a remodeled kitchen, walk-out basement, and a layout that's becoming harder and harder to find. It was truly a one-of-a-kind property that deserved a special new owner.

A huge thank you to my sellers, Joyce and Patrick, for trusting me throughout the process. While both siblings were involved, Joyce carried much of the responsibility and work that comes with preparing and selling a home, and I know it wasn't always easy. Your patience, persistence, and determination helped get us across the finish line.

🏡 CLOSED IN WINTHROP HARBOR! 🎉

Congratulations to Dave and Becky on finding the perfect place to call home!

This journey definitely had a few twists and turns along the way. We wrote offers, competed with other buyers, completed an inspection on one home and ultimately decided it wasn't the right fit. We even submitted an offer on another property and never heard back from the seller or the seller's agent (yes, really... can you imagine? 😳).

But through it all, Dave and Becky stayed patient, trusted the process, and kept moving forward.

And then the right one came along.

Not only is their new home a perfect fit for this stage of life, but it's right next door to Mom! ❤️ With a main-floor primary bedroom, main-floor laundry, and a layout that will serve them well for years to come, this home checked all the boxes.

As repeat clients, it means so much that Dave and Becky trusted Team Mattice once again. Helping wonderful people find the right home is always rewarding, but helping friends and past clients makes it even more special.

🏡 SOLD IN McHENRY! 🎉

I was so excited when Jim and Tracey called me to help them with their next chapter. Tracey has been a longtime friend and client, and it was such a pleasure getting to know her husband Jim—what a fantastic guy!

The search for their next home wasn't easy. The market was challenging on the buy side, and there were definitely moments when we wondered how everything would come together. Then came the sale of their home. After being on the market a tad too long, we finally made the difficult decision to let the listing expire.

What happened next is something I won't forget!

Months earlier, Tracey had buried a St. Joseph statue in the yard. On the morning the listing expired, she dug it up. Just a few hours later, a showing request came through. And what do you know? That buyer ended up purchasing the home.

Some people may call it coincidence, but I truly believe God is in control and His timing is always perfect. Everything came together exactly as it was supposed to.

Today, Jim and Tracey are settled into a wonderful new location, closer to the people and places that matter most. I couldn't be happier for them.

There's something special about helping a family pass a longtime home on to its next caretakers.

When I first toured this home with the sellers, one of the brothers pointed to a small room just off the living room and said, "That was my room." It wasn't a traditional bedroom by today's standards, but it reminded me how different life was back then.

We made rooms out of small spaces. We spent our days outside playing in the yard, riding bikes, playing street games with the neighborhood kids, and gathering with family and friends. We didn't have social media, smartphones, or endless distractions. What we did have was each other.

From the moment I walked through this home, I could feel the love and memories that had been made there over the years.

I've actually had the privilege of selling many homes on this cul-de-sac throughout my career, and every one has its own story. This one was especially meaningful because you could truly feel the history and the family pride that existed within these walls.
