Before you walk into that open house this weekend, here's what I'd tell my best friend:

Don't fall in love with the paint color, furniture, or decor.

Those things can change.

Instead, pay attention to the things that are much harder (and more expensive) to change:

✔️ The location
✔️ The layout and flow of the home
✔️ The size of the rooms
✔️ The neighborhood and surrounding homes
✔️ The condition of major systems like the roof, HVAC, and windows

And here's a big one...

Don't assume an open house is just for people who are ready to buy next week.

Open houses are a great way to:
• Learn what your budget can buy
• Discover what features matter most to your family
• Compare neighborhoods
• Get comfortable with the buying process
