Common Mold Spores at a glance:

CLADOSPORIUM

COMMONLY FOUND: Most damp indoor materials, areas with varying temperatures or low temperatures (e.g. HVAC systems, refrigerators)

GROWTH INFORMATION: Colonies typically produce spores after 7 days in ideal conditions, able to grow in a wide array of temperature conditions.

BADIDIOSPORE

COMMONLY FOUND: Outdoors on decaying wood or in soil.

GROWTH INFORMATION: Spores produced by mushrooms. They are commonly found floating through indoor environments. Unimportant unless mushrooms are growing on the property. Presence of wood-rotting basidiospores is a cause for concern.

STACHYBOTRYS:

COMMONLY FOUND: Wet wood, gypsum board, or other cellulose materials.

GROWTH INFORMATION: a colony requires 10-12 days of persistent moisture to produce spores. Their presence indicates a substantial and/or consistent source of water.

CHAETOMIUM:

COMMONLY FOUND: Wet wood, gypsum board, or other cellulose materials.

GROWTH INFORMATION: Must have a consistent water source for 10-14 days before spores are formed. Their presence indicates a substantial and/or consistent source of water.

PENICILLIUM / ASPERGILLUS:

COMMONLY FOUND: Most wet materials (e.g. clothing, wallpaper, etc.) food products.

GROWTH INFORMATION: One fo the fastest growing indoor fungi, with some species producing spores in as little as 4 days in ideal conditions.

Our phone system is currently experiencing problems and has been since the storms on Saturday. It is ringing into our voicemail so if you call and no one answers please leave a message as I am checking them every hour to hour and a half. A call will be returned by one of us via cell phone. Radon Gas can enter both new and old homes. Radon gas is an odorless gas that cannot be seen or smelled. The only way to know if Radon Gas is present in your home is to have your home professionally tested.

Radon enters your home by the following ways:
1- Crawlspaces and basements
2- Cracks in the foundation and walls
3- Thru floor drains, pipes and thru sump pumps.

Radon can be mitigated by installing a Radon pump system.
